Terms of use

Last updated 14 September 2026

yatotes is a small, invite-only site for runners, run by one person. Using it means accepting what follows. If you do not, please do not use it.

Who may use it

You need an invitation, and you need to be 18 or over. Accounts are not available in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. Your account is yours: do not share it, and tell us if someone else gets into it. A tracker page can be read without an account by anyone holding the link.

What you post

You keep ownership of what you write and upload. By posting it you give yatotes permission to store and display it for the purpose of running the site — showing your post to the people you meant to show it to, and in the case of a cheer, delivering it to the runner it was written for.

Do not post anything that is:

Cheers go onto someone's wrist

A cheer posted on a tracker page is public on that page and is delivered to the runner's watch during their race, where it appears on screen and vibrates. Two things follow. Do not put anything private in one, because everyone with the link can read it. And write it as something you would be happy for a tired person to read mid-race: it arrives at a moment they cannot reply, cannot easily dismiss, and did not choose.

A delivered cheer cannot be recalled. It can be deleted from the page, and it stops being shown on the watch, but it has already been seen.

Reporting something

If you see a cheer, photo, post or profile that breaks these rules, email abuse@yatotes.com with a link and what is wrong with it. Reports are read by a person, usually within a day. Anything breaking these rules is removed, and accounts that keep doing it lose access. The people running a race tracker can also delete cheers and photos on it directly, which is the fastest route during an event.

Live tracking is not a safety service

This matters more than anything else on this page. The tracker shows a position from a few minutes ago, delivered through a watch, a phone and a mobile network, any of which can and does fail. Positions can be late, out of order, or absent for an hour. A moving dot does not mean a runner is fine, and a still one does not mean they are not.

Do not use yatotes to decide whether someone needs help. If you are worried about a runner, contact the race organisers or the emergency services. If you are the runner, carry what the race requires and tell someone your plan; a phone in a pocket is not a rescue plan.

What the site is and is not

yatotes is provided as it is, with no promise that it will work, be available, or be accurate. Race listings, courses and results come from public sources and from other people, and they are often wrong. Times, distances, elevation and age-graded scores are estimates. Check anything that matters against the race itself.

Nothing here is coaching, medical or safety advice. Running is your own risk and your own responsibility. As far as the law allows, the operator of yatotes is not liable for loss arising from using it, from relying on anything it shows, or from it being unavailable.

The Garmin data field

The Race Feed data field is an independent piece of software that works with Garmin devices. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Garmin. It needs your phone within range to send anything, and it samples every few minutes rather than continuously. Support for it comes from the address below and nowhere else.

Ending it

You can stop using yatotes whenever you like and ask for your account to be deleted — see the privacy page. Access can be withdrawn for breaking these rules, or if the site shuts down, in which case there will be notice and a chance to take your data with you.

Changes and contact

These terms can change; the date at the top moves when they do, and anything significant is announced to account holders. For anything else, write to hello@yatotes.com.
